Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) has ended
PUA has ended and so has your job! COVID-19 has effectively laid off or fired 52 million Americans – “YOU’RE FIRED!”. That’s a lot of unemployed people that aren’t going back to work any time soon. Many businesses have closed for good. How do you find a way to get paid to maximize your knowledge?
Working for a corporation is not the answer. Corporate America is not hiring back workers. In fact, corporations have used the cover of COVID-19 to accelerate AI automation of jobs. See this website to see if a robot or automation will take your job: https://willrobotstakemyjob.com.
The government is not the answer. The government has cancelled its support for the unemployed by ending PUA while it continues to support corporate America through propping up the Stock Market. The government recently rolled out a job retraining program called “Find Something New“. Although it is informative on the types of jobs that are in demand in the near future, if you take the training that is offered on this site, it does not guarantee you a job when you complete the training.
What is the answer then?

It’s that simple!
We use a very simple outline.
This includes:
- Overview
- 3 Modules with 3 lessons per module
- Summary
Once you have completed the course and you decide you want to create your own course, we set you up with the course template and we help you get started.
Let’s go into more detail on each one of these outline components.
The Overview
In the Overview, you’ll share the objective for the course and the description of the modules. It is preferred if you start off with a video of your overview.
The objective for the course could be stated like this:
This is a course on Data Science with Python. The objective of this course is to give you an overview of Data Science and teach you how to program in Python. We will show you how to create 3 python programs to automate data science tasks. In Module 1 we will describe what Data Science is and the key components of data science. In Module 2 we will describe the job opportunities in Data Science. In Module 3 we will discuss Python and include 3 python programs that you can use to automate processes including one program which will let you apply for 100 Data Science jobs in your sleep!
The Modules
Each Module should include 3 lessons. Make sure to include lessons that are relevant to that module. Think of each lesson as one of three steps to teach the objective of the module. For example, let’s say your course is on Basic Car Maintenance. One of your modules is changing the oil in your car. Here might be 3 lessons for that module:
- Lesson #1: Buy the items to change the oil in your car: 5 quarts of oil, oil filter, oil pan. Explain how to find the right kind of oil and oil filter for any type of car.
- Lesson #2: Place the oil pan under the oil drain and unscrew the oil drain plug. Drain the oil from your car and remove the oil filter. Once the oil has drained screw in the oil drain plug.
- Lesson #3: Install new oil filter. Pour in 5 quarts of oil. Drive your car to a certified location to properly dispose of used motor oil and oil filter.
Also include a mix of media including text, images and video. Here are three examples of free image websites where you can download and use these images without paying royalties:
The Summary
The Summary portion of your course tells the learner what they have learned. You should also provide a way that they can share what they’ve learned immediately. One way to do this is to get the learner to share what they have learned as a post in the Upskill Create Community. Another important part of the summary is to give incentives to your learners to share the course with others. Incentives could include giving them access to another course for free or at a discount, or offering a free ebook for recommending the course.
Additionally, you can help your learners sell their knowledge they have learned from your course on gig websites like:
